Project

      Now having a world leader in RDBMS in Nepal, NS (WDN) moves towards providing solutions to customers depending upon their needs. Initially Oracle India has helped us in preparation of manpower, later more people were trained from SQL Star International, an Authorized Training center of Oracle.

Some of our major Projects are: -

1. Hydrological and Meteorological Information

 System DHM intended to develop a Hydro-meteorological Information System (HIS) to process, analyze and disseminate hydrological information according to the client’s needs, under financial cooperation of World Bank. The system shall be backed up by suitable database and Geographic Information System (GIS) facilities for the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM). The services also cover on-the-job training to the DHM staff. The consultancy service will have the two main components: Development and establishment of HIS and Training.
The main objective of the consulting services is to develop a HIS to store, check, analyze and interpret the hydrological and meteorological data at DHM. The system should also be able to retrieve the information on river data, basin data, hydrological data and geographic data when clicked at the desired location in a displayed map on computer. Develop a team of manpower capable of handling HIS independently after establishment of the system at DHM.
The system has been successfully installed and implemented in DHM premises. HIS is the first implementation of enterprise Geodatabase concept in Nepal using ESRI Technology (more....)
 
2. NTC GSM Billing System 

This is a multi national project. Companies like HUAWEI of China, Intasys Billing Technology (IBT) of Australia are involved in this project along with WDN. Huawei is providing nation wide switching network, whereas IBT and WDN are providing Billing Software. Currently, WDN’s responsibility is to provide customer cash collection and general ledger, which will support NTC’s financial aspects, and provide necessary hardware and networking. 

3. Royal Nepal Army Inventory Control Systems

Inventory Management Systems is designed to deal with all kinds of purchase and issue of goods. The system has various modules viz. Purchase, Requisition etc. besides having all the general functions of normal inventory systems. Furthermore, the system also keeps track of different unit holding, personal holding etc.
The system is being used since March 1997. The system maintains record to very minute detail to the extent that even a holding of individual army can be checked by the system. The very functioning of purchase and issue of different goods in the Royal Nepal Army depend upon this system. This systems also keeps track of all items issued to individual army personnel over the period of time giving up to the minute details information over the network spread across different Ganas (Battalions & Units). A special module of this also keeps track of arms & ammunitions and another module keeps track of vehicle parts.
The recording of purchase orders, requisitions by different departments are well handled by the system and it keeps audit of all the events. The ergonomically designed menus and screens have made it more users friendly.This software is developed With ORACLE 7.3 as a backend and Developer 2000 as a front-end tool. 

4. Criminal Record Subsystems

The Nepal Police (NP) under HMG/Nepal is involved with different aspects of crime prevention, arresting of the criminals, investigating different criminal incidences, keeping records of the criminals, reporting different criminal incidences to the Ministry of Home Affairs, and to maintain the law and order in the kingdom of Nepal. In order to fulfill the above goals, NP has come up with the computerized system Crime and Criminal Information System (CCIS). Criminal Record Subsystems is one of the four modules of Crime and Criminal Information System (CCIS).
The system is designed to provide accurate and timely detailed information of crime and criminals to NP. The purpose of the Criminal Record Subsystem is as follows:· Maintain and update criminal database.· To keep records of judicial proceedings and actions against each criminal.· To provide information of criminals to other subsystems.By using the latest technology in database and communication medium, the centralized information will be made available in all the seventy-five districts of the country.
This software is developed on ORACLE 7.3 / Windows NT as a backend database Server and Developer 2000 as a front-end tool. Designer 2000 is used as a CASE Tool.


5. ProMIS - NIDC Financial Management System 

World Distribution Nepal in association with Price Waterhouse Cooper, India jointly developed the Financial Management System for Nepal Industrial Development Corporation (NIDC). This was one of the major software projects yet undertaken in Nepal and the first ISO-9000 certified software to be developed by Nepalese party. The total value of the software is US $ 1,80,000.

6. Income Tax Administration Consolidation Project (ITAC)

The Income Tax Administration Consolidation Project (ITAC) is the project of Department of Taxation, Ministry of Finance, under the financial co-operation of German Technical Co-operation (GTZ). The main aim of the ITAC project is to enhance the work of the income tax administration by computerizing the income tax registration process by issuing Permanent Account Number (PAN). Furthermore, the project essentially aims at improving the tax legislation, administrative procedures and knowledge of administrative staff. 
The software is developed on Oracle 8i / Windows NT as a back-end database server and Developer 2000 as a front-end application development tool and Designer 2000 as CASE tool. 

7. Book Publishing, Monitoring and Costing Software (BPMCS)

The Book Publishing, Monitoring and Costing Software (BPMCS) is developed for Book Publishing Management Cell of Basic and Primary Education Project (BPEP)- Program Advisory Team (PAT) office under the Ministry of Education. The project is aided by the Netherlands Government (DANIDA)
The main aim of the project is to enhance the work of the Book Publishing Management Cell. The program keeps track of specification, costing and other relevant information of the book publishing work.
This software is developed on ORACLE 7.3 / NT as a backend database server and Developer 2000 as a front-end tool and Designer 2000 as CASE tool. 

8. Institute of Engineering MIS Project

The objectives of implementing computerized systems at the Institute of Engineering are as follows:
o To record all operational information of the systems in the same databases and make the operation of these systems more efficient and effective.o To be able to accommodate the information needs of the management, faculty and staff of the Institute, and thus provide them an appropriate tool to manage and monitor the activities of the Institute.o To be able to store, collect and retrieve information of students as and when needed.o To make available MIS information to the management for future planning.This software is developed with ORACLE 8 / NT as a backend and Developer 2000 as a front-end tool. Designer 2000 is used as a CASE Tool.


9. Biogas Support Programme Project

Established in 1992 as a part of Biogas Support Programme (BSP) project supported by Netherlands Government, it is responsible for the overall implementation of Biogas Programme in Nepal.
The objective of BSP customized software is to capture the details of Biogas plant information and their maintenance.
This software is developed With ORACLE 8i as a backend and Developer 2000 as a front-end tool. Designer 2000 is used as a CASE Tool.


10. CEMA Industrial Supplies Search (Internal Search Engine) 

This was developed for our Japanese client, Tokyo Syscom Co. Ltd. The main purpose of this project is to bring together all the possible companies information in one web server as a centralized database so that the end user can search the information. This was made entirely bi-lingual i.e. user can switch from English to Japanese and vice versa from each page. Every page is password protected.
There are three levels of authentication: User, Company and Administrator. User has authority to search the site for different products only. Company has access to data of a particular company for which he/she has been given the authority. And administrator has all the authority to grant or revoke authorities given to User and Company level users, add and delete the data in the database.

11. Japanese Web Pages (Static) Design

This project is long-term project developing the static Japanese web pages for various companies in Japan. The design process contains the design and setup of the web pages, look & feel, image manipulation. The project is developed using the Adobe Go Live and later refined by HTML tag manipulation.

12. Submitta Web directory (Web Portal)

This project was developed for our German client, www.submitta.com. For developing a versatile and powerful web portal. From user’s perspective, it looks similar to every other portal, i.e. it contains links to various categories, sub-categories and websites. But its main strength lies in its administrative features. Administrator can change all the look and feel of the site without editing any source-code. He / She has all the authority to change, restrict, and even to delete already extant contents without manipulating the underlying source code and has authority to restrict sites submission from some particular IP addresses, with particular country domain, or sites containing predefined politically incorrect words (this can be changed by administrator). Administrator has all the authority to activate, deactivate, delete or expire some particular links. He/she can also limit the number of sites to display in a particular category. It also contains the automatic emailing feature to the client and the administrator when a client submits a site. Admin section is all password protected. 

13. Solar Energy MIS and Database System

This software is developed for Alternative Energy Promotion Center (AEPC) (Ministry of Science and Technology) and Energy Sector Assistance Programme (ESAP) (project funded by DANIDA).This software is developed With ORACLE 8i as a backend and Oracle forms/reports as a front-end tool. Oracle Designer is used as a CASE Tool.


14. MiniGrid MIS and Database System

This software is developed for Alternative Energy Promotion Center (AEPC) (Ministry of Science and Technology) and Energy Sector Assistance Programme (ESAP) (project funded by DANIDA).This software is developed With ORACLE 8i as a backend and Oracle forms/reports as a front-end tool. Oracle Designer is used as a CASE Tool.


15. Improved Cooking Stove MIS and Database System

We are currently working on the development of Improved Cooking Stove MIS and Database System for Alternative Energy Promotion Center (AEPC) (Ministry of Science and Technology) and Energy Sector Assistance Programme (ESAP) (project funded by DANIDA).

16. Credit Card Settlement System

This software is developed for Credit Card department of Nabil bank. It is developed using Oracle 9i as a backend and Oracle Forms/Reports as a front end tool.
